If you want an easy way to record your thoughts or carry out interviews, you can make use of mobile apps. There are a number of apps that can convert spoken words to text. To get started, your smartphone should be connected to the Internet. Then, switch on the app and start speaking.

Below are five speech-to-text mobile apps that can help you get things done without a lot of hassle:

Dragon Dictation
To use Dragon Dictation, simply tap the app button and start talking; the app will handle the rest. When you finish dictating, the transcribed text will appear. You can use Dragon Dictation to process lengthy emails and other documents. The app has a high degree of accuracy and can transcribe audio to speech in over 30 languages.

Evernote for Android
You can use Evernote to record speeches and meetings, and turn the transcriptions to text. The recorded audio and text are saved in the app and can be searched. The free app uses Google Android’s text transcription service. Therefore, text-to-speech will only work when you are online.

Voice Assistant
Voice Assistant converts your speech to text and even enables you to post to Facebook, Twitter and email. You can convert your transcriptions to the desired format without additional clicks. Moreover, you can send your transcriptions to other apps such as Evernote or Pages, YouTube and Google Search through the app's auto copy feature.

ListNote Speech
With this free Android app, you can organize your list of previous notes. To record a speech, tap the Speech Recognition button at the top of the app. As you speak, the transcribed text will appear in the relevant space in a new Note section on the ListNote screen.

Ivona Text-to-Speech
Like the other apps we’ve reviewed, Ivona is free and includes some advanced features. As you speak, the app will highlight your words. Your dictation can be saved in text as well as an audio file. The app has a pause button you can use in case you want to take a break after speaking for long.
